Supernatural stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki as Dean and Sam Winchester, two brothers travelling the country battling the supernatural and in search of their missing Father.

As children Dean and Sam witnessed the murder of their mother (Mary) by a malevolent supernatural force. Their father, John Winchester, consumed with an obsession to hunt down the evil that murdered his wife recruited his sons into his crusade. Growing up the boys were trained to recognise and destroy paranormal entities - learning everything there was to know about ghosts, spirits and demons and how to kill them. The brothers became competent hunters and aided their father in his mission, killing all things supernatural that lay between them and their goal of finding the demon that killed Mary.

Sam eventually left Dean and John to pursue a normal life at Stanford University. There he studied pre-law and was happy with his girlfriend Jess until Dean appeared with news that their Father had disappeared whilst on a hunting trip. Sam was drawn back into the hunting lifestyle when after they returned from their search for their Father (empty handed) his girlfriend Jess was murdered by the same demon that killed Mary.

The Winchester boys set out on the road seeking out the supernatural and fighting evil while all the time searching for their missing Father and the demon that destroyed their family.
